MXR Mods

The MXR Distortion + is one of my favorite pedals! It delivers classic overdrive crunch with great feel and response. The minimalistic circuitry is the key to this pedal's success. The circuit is almost identical to the DOD 250. The main difference is in the clipping section where the MXR produces a more compressed drive with increased saturation and a fuzzier edge. This mod is designed to give the pedal all the basic modern apointments we feel are absolutely necessary! This mod applies on to older units without PC mounted bypass switches.

The Super mod picks up where the Modern ends. Its designed to turn the pedal into a tune and tweaked Rock and Roll machine! This mod optimizes key areas resulting in a richer, full bodied drive with added clarity and output. A real treat!!

These mods apply to the late 70's early 80's MXR pedals with mechanical footswitches. They are not for the later Dunlop made series of effects with PCB mounted switching . Email for details!

Although great pedals, the more recent Dunlop MXR pedals aren't true bypassed or even buffered, resulting in major tone sucking. They have PCB mounted footswitches making the true bypass mod a bit more time consuming as the circuit board must be cut and rewired.

This is a fun pedal! Although not the most versatile, it definitely gets full points for its cool factor! The mods developed for this pedal make it that much more hardcore. In stock form the pedal doesn't have enough output; after this mod, the MXR Blue Box will blow the speakers right out of you amp!

Thats a mouthful of a title!! MXR has recently reissued the classic Phase 90 as it was when it was first released. They did a great job building an authentic clone of the original pedal. We'll take it further and complete the package with a bit more output, true bypass switching and a 2.1mm DC input.

This mod give you the ability to switch between a 2 stage and a 4 stage phaser. In other words, you get a 2 way toggle switch that allows you to use your pedal as a Phase 90 or switch it to the more sublte, super liquid Phase 45 mode
